When you mention area rug, accent rug, floor rug, or any other kind of rug you first think of your living room. Most people associate floor rugs with their living room, dining room, or entry way. But what about the other rooms in the house? Or outside the house for that matter? There are a lot of different areas in the house that rugs can accentuate not only to compliment the decor but to serve a role or function.
Rugs in your bathroom serve several purposes. A good bathroom rug provides a safe place for you to dry your self off after you get out of the shower or tub. These rugs should have a rubber backing to prevent slipping. They should also be moisture rated to some point so that water wont damage the rug. To much water can cause a rug to just fall apart. Last but not least you can choose your style. You can purchase bath rugs individually or find a large bathroom rug set that will do the job. We all know how important it is to match the decor!

If you’ve watched a little bit of HGTV, you will know how important outdoor spaces have become. They are not only great to add additional useable square footage, but they are able to put you right in the middle of nature and what it has to offer. Like the bath rug, these rugs also need to be moisture friendly. Even if you have a covered space, moisture and dew will settle outside if the weather is inclement. Poly and bamboo rugs are just a few that come to mind that work great outside in the weather. Braided rugs are also because they come in so many patterns and are available for the outdoors as well.
Welcome Rug
This is one of my favorite rugs or mats in or around the house. What I like about the welcome mat is you can choose one that compliments your personality. There is an unlimited selection and it seem like everyone is getting their hand in this business. But, what’s the best part of a welcome mat? It keeps your floor rugs in the house clean…. well, thats if people actually wipe their feet off. One of the biggest mistakes people make is they don’t change out their welcome mat as often as they should. When your welcome mat has seen its last day, trash it. A soiled welcome rug is what causes a lot of the soil stains in your home. Change out or replace your welcome mat frequently and you will have a cleaner home.
